Happy Mail!

Today I received some birthday happy mail!  Grant you my birthday isn't until the 7th, but I couldn't resist opening the packages today.  This first packaged the mail lady dropped off at our front door since it wouldn't fit in the mail box.  Aren't my parents awesome!  They know me so well, love my Bath and Body supplies and I for see a shopping spree in my future, between the gift card they sent me from Kohls and the gift Kohls send.

This next package of goodness was bought up from the mail box by hubby.  It's from an amazing women who is so thoughtful and kind and always  thinking of others.  Many thanks goes out to my dear friend Cindy L, I'm so blessed to be able to call her my friend.
Just love all the goodies Cindy sent.  Can't wait to try them out.  Isn't the card adorable, the inside even has and amazing saying for August birthdays!

Time to Catch Up!

So sorry life got a little busy.  So now I'll take the time to catch up on posting some projects that I had made up for my Card Buffet Event last month.

This simple card isn't given justice in this photo, but thought I would share it anyway.  It was created with generation stamping.  I added some glitter to the first generation flowers, because glitter makes everyone happy right!?

Placemat and Napkin Gift Set

Finally finished up this gift set of placemats and napkins.  I think they turned out so cute.  When hubby and I found the rooster fabric we knew it would be prefect.  The roosters fabric makes me smile.  The placemats came together quickly since I just quilted the front fabric to the back and bound them.  The napkins actually took me a little longer since I was trying out something new.  I make the napkins using the self binding method.  Which does take a little time measuring but I think the end results are worth it!  Hope the individual I made this set for enjoys them.

College Bound!

So proud of my middle son Brant today!  He has received his diploma at sixteen and will start walking the  hallways of college this fall.  It blows my mind to think I'm old enough to even have teenagers never mind college students!  Maybe I should really start thinking about what I want to be when I grow up.

You're looking at a future Nuclear Engineer!

Quilt As You Go!

Today I finished up a small baby quilt.  I tried a new technique to me know as "quilt as you go".  As you can see from the photos you end up with a cute scrappy quilt.  I did have a few issues lining the rows up, but I'm sure that has to do with my measuring and cutting skill set.lol  So something for me to work on and perfect.  Until then whoever gets the quilt should love it since I made it....right?!

Bright, scrappy baby quilt front.
Here is the back.  Ignore all the strings, I still need to trim.

Thanks for stopping.  Have a great day!

4th of July

Since the fourth of July is right around the corner. I decided I should finish making some cards to send out to family and friends after Father's Day.  I used Stampin' Up! stamps, dies and cardstock in the construction of this simple creation.  If your a family member or a friend don't look so you can be surprised!

Now it's time for me do do some sewing since I picked up some new fabric and have a long list of projects to complete. Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Father's Day Cards

I'm so excited to announce I'm ahead of schedule!  My father's day cards are complete.  These are so simple and quick to put together.  I used Stampin' Up! cardstock, Designer paper, and stamp sets.  The screw brads make me smile and really pull the theme of the cards together.

Now just need to figure out what gifts the Dads need this year.  Thanks for coming by and taking a look.  Have a great day!

HAPPY MAIL

This past weekend my hubby and I attended a VA marriage retreat located at Hickory Knob State Resort Park in McCormick, SC.  I honestly have to say it was an emotionally draining weekend but I would do it all over again.  This has been our first weekend away without kids (mind you we have been married for 23 years and our oldest is 22 years old)!  It was so nice having my hubby all to myself without daily life getting in the way.

Hickory Knob State Park is amazing.  We got to see a deer, otter, squirrels, fish and of course lots of birds.  There are so many activities available to do, well worth the time to stop if traveling in that area.  Just keep in mind it is a state park so the lodging doesn't get a 5 star rating, but there is air conditioning, which is always a plus in my book!

Anyway back to business, came home to a box of goodies from my dear friend Cindy.  She is such a blessing in my life.  As you can see she sent lots of goodies which gives me an excuse to create!  As if I needed one.
